Our session will consist of an introduction to Literacy Design Collaborative (LDC). We will demonstrate how to create a module or find an existing one using the tools on the LDC website. We will share personal experiences with the implementation of LDC in an elementary and middle school classroom .We have personally found the LDC teaching of modules to enhance our student’s ability to perform beyond the teaching of a single skill. We have both taught modules available on the LDC website designed by other teachers as well as designing modules of our own to implement in our classrooms. At this point in our school district the majority of our teachers have been involved in the teaching of a LDC module ranging from ELA teachers through science, social studies and so on.
